C’est la vie…

February 27, 2015

If you take a look at our Technique Workshops for March, you might notice they all have something in common. There seems to be a French twist to every project this month. We must have French art on the brain.

We are starting off Thursday, March 5th, with a brand new project straight from our Mayco Art Camp Conference–the romantic Paris Canvas. We are excited to share this project and all the beautiful techniques used to create this whimsical piece. It will be interesting to see all the different variations of colors and ideas you all come up with too!

The next week, Thursday, March 12, we are bringing back a classic favorite project at All Fired Up–the Starry Night Tray, inspired by the one and only Vincent Van Gogh. We simply cannot get enough of this project, it’s beautiful and magical and emotional just like Van Gogh’s hauntingly beautiful original work.

And finally, we take you to Thursday, March 19th, for our Pop Art Vase inspired by the iconic Piet Mondrian. You might not know, he is actually Dutch (like Van Gogh); but he did move to Paris and dropped the extra “a” in his name to emphasize his leaving the Netherlands. And with the influence of all the French cubism and leaps in modern art at the time, his art took a turn for the best. And it was during his second move to Paris, that he developed the minimalist aesthetic of the primary colors, shapes, lines that we take this week’s technique workshop inspiration.

Au Revoir!

All Fired Up
